Stand Up Australia

In case you missed the 60 Minutes report on Sunday night, here are links to the story and some supplementary material. We’ve previously discussed the long-term dangers of long-term sitting and leading a sedentary lifestyle. Our  Lunch & Learn workplace sessions are great for workplaces, while the Sit Right WIdget is a great program that you can download – it will remind you every hour or so to get up and move!

The latest research says sitting is as bad as smoking. It sounds dramatic because it is. Excessive sitting has been linked to diabetes, cardiovascular disease and even cancer. And if you think exercising every day gives you a leave pass – you’re wrong.

Lunch & Learn with Chiropractic Central’s workplace sessions

HP Spine Session 3Want to reduce stress and increase productivity of your staff?

Would your workplace benefit from a 30-45 minute complimentary session regarding spinal health and posture?

Did you know:
• Healthy employees are 3x more productive than unhealthy employees
• The average Australian office worker misses 9.3 days of work per year form stress
• Underperformance due to stress costs Australia $24.7 billion per year

In these Lunch and Learn sessions, Tara and I visit your workplace and talk about posture health and how important keeping your spine healthy is for you.

HP Spine Session 2The session gets everyone out of their seat as I share certain stretches and exercises anyone can do while sitting at their desk, and focus on the importance of proper ergonomics.

Chiropractic Central has recently visited the offices of Nutricia and HP for complementary sessions and invites interested businesses to contact us to learn more and book their session.

HP Spine Session 1“As most of employees are office-based and spend a lot of time sitting at their work stations we thought it would be a great benefit to employees to have Sarah come along and educate people about the importance of spinal health. Employees came away from the session with a new awareness of how the spine plays a huge role in optimising body function and overall health. They were provided with ideas for how they could improve their posture and support the health of their spine through taking regular breaks and performing stretches. Sarah made the session very interesting and kept the audience engaged throughout. Chiropractic Central also provided free spinal screens for those employees who were interested in an individual assessment which were very popular.” –Recent feedback from Nutricia.
